Multiple fault assessment algorithm for reliability evaluation

Multiple faults affect the reliability indices in large power systems. An efficient algorithm is developed for multiple fault assessment based on the component state duration sampling approach (CSDSA), where the multiple faults are transformed into the single fault to accelerate the calculation. Also the sampling state and the load curtailment are recorded to avoid re evaluating the same system states. The load curtailment strategy based on sensitivity is presented in the single fault assessment. Evaluation of The IEEE RTS using the algorithm shows that the algorithm is more accurate and efficient.
