Robust dynamic operation optimization in hot rolling production process

In hot rolling production process of iron and steel plant, the control of the strip shape is a challenging problem, since the set of the rolling schedule in operation optimization is dynamic with uncertainty, with consideration of the disturbance of the incoming information, the errors of the calculation models and the variations of the production parameters. In this paper, a model based on the shape survey control mathematics model for the robust dynamic operation optimization problem (RDOOP) is built which takes minimization of the crown and the flatness as the objective function. Dynamic programming method based on robust optimization is used to solve this problem. Computational results based on practical production data show that the proposed RDOOP model and dynamic programming have a certain application value for enhancing the level of shape control.
