Storage Area Network Extension over Passive Optical Networks Using Parallel Signal Detection

We demonstrate a novel storage passive optical network (PON), which delivers broadband data as well as storage services to the end users through the employment of subcarrier modulation and parallel signal detection (PSD). Experimental results show that the proposed storage PON is capable of providing Gigabit level data and storage transmission in the access network.
