Social and Affective Functions of Nonverbal Behavior: Developmental Concerns

The significance of nonverbal behavior for psychological inquiry lies in two functions that nonverbal behavior plays. The first is the communicative or social function of nonverbal behavior, and the second is the expressive or affective function. These will be discussed in turn.
