A DMT/DWMT System Implementation Method In DSL Application

Discrete multitone transmission(DMT) using DFT bases as carriers increases greatly SNR of the channel.However, in far-end crosstalk, its sub-channels exist still a lot of frequency spectrum overlapping and increase error-rate. With overlapped orthogonal wavelet bases as carriers, DWMT possesses better spectral containment than DMT and can achieve a high level of immunity.With using overlapped pseudo-orthogonal bases,DWMT can be compatible with DMT.The combined system can be adapted to different channel environments by selecting the better transmission mode from DMT/DWMT.
