Im Zentrum der folgenden Uberlegungen steht zum einen die Entwicklung der Wissensreprasentation von Makroraumen bei Kindern und zum anderen die damit verbundenen spezifischen Probleme der Ontogenese verbaler lokalreferentieller Fahigkeiten. Unter Makroraum — im Gegensatz zu Mikroraum — verstehe ich dabei einen Raum, der von einem Punkt aus nicht vollstandig uberblickt werden kann. Dies bedeutet, das man sich in ihm bewegen mus, um ihn kennenzulernen. Der Unterschied zwischen Mikro-und Makroraum hat also auch eine zeitliche Dimension: Ein Kleinraum ist sozusagen gleichzeitig, auf einen Blick erfahrbar, wohingegen Grosraume wiederholte, sukzessive Erfahrungen verlangen.
