Comparative evaluation of template-based region sampling for PiB PET data analysis

Introduction: The practical usefulness of automated region-of-interest (ROI) placement for sampling of PET data is well known. Automated methods generally use one set of ROIs (for one structural MR image template), relative to the more labor intensive standard method of manual ROI creation on each subject's native MR that can be impractical for large studies. In this work, automated ROI methods were examined for control and Alzheimer's disease (AD) subjects who were studied with PET amyloid imaging.
