Rotor resistance estimation using fuzzy logic for high performance induction motor drives

This paper presents a method of estimation for the rotor resistance in an indirect vector-controlled induction motor drive. First, the influence of the rotor resistance deviation to the system performance is studied based on simulation and experimentation approach. The design of a rotor resistance estimator using the fuzzy logic principle is then described. The effectiveness of the proposed rotor resistance estimation scheme is demonstrated by simulation.
