Using Fuzzy TOPSIS Approach to Assess Adaptive Capacity of Urban Water Resource in Beijing

The study on adaptive capacity has became the focus of current research on climate-change. A four-dimensional framework including 12 indicators has been built to assess the adaptive capacity of urban water resources system. These four dimensions represent the four pillars of a sustainable water resource system: natural resources, social and demographic, management and infrastructure. After that, analytic hierarchy process( AHP) is used to determine the weight of each indicator and fuzzy TOPSIS( Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Situation) could be used to calculate the ranking results of 11 districts in Beijing and quantify water resource adaptive capacity of these areas. Finally, adaptability proposal was put forward for the ranking result achieved.
