An Investigation of Educational Use of Information and Communication Technology from the Perspectives of Ghanaian Students

Thepurposeofthisstudywastostudyundergraduatestudents’acceptanceanduseofICTinclassrooms. Atotalof361studentsfromfouruniversitiesparticipatedinthestudy.Surveyquestionnaireswhich comprisedbothclosed-endedandopen-endedquestionswereusedtocollectdata.Descriptivestatistics, Pearsoncorrelation,repeated-measuresofAnalysisofvarianceandmultipleregressionwereused toanalyzethefindings.Thestudyrevealedthatstudentsusetechnologyforpersonalpurposesrather thanforinstructionalpurposes.Despite,students’highacceptanceoftechnology,theirtechnology integrationintolearninghasremainedlow.Theanalysisshowedthatstudentsbelievingthattechnology canimprovetheirrelationshipwithotherstudentssignificantlycontributedtotheiracceptanceof technologyinschools.Understandingstudents’acceptanceandtheirexperiencesoftechnologyuse offerinsightsintotheirintegrationoftechnologyintolearning.
