Behavior of High-Performance Concrete Under Uniaxial and Biaxial Loading

In order to investigate high performance concrete (HPC) mechanical properties, research involving systematic experimentation was carried out. With the help of a closed-loop testing machine, four different loading conditions, including tension compression, biaxial compression, uniaxial compression, and uniaxial tension, were used in testing a total of 91 plate specimens. A strain control loading scheme provided biaxial and uniaxial complete stress-strain curves. For uniaxial loading conditions, average curves and standard deviation curves were obtained on a stochastic process theory basis. In this experiment, concrete rehardening was observed after the concrete had entered the softening stage. Parameter identification of the complete stress-strain curves allow development of both stress and strain space ultimate strength envelopes. A foundation for further multiaxial constitutive law of concrete research was laid through this research.
