Power and Translation of Address Form—A Comparative Study of the Translation of Address Form in Teahouse

Address from is an expression employed to call each other in the social interaction,reflecting the participants' status,role and other factors of power,which makes it difficult to achieve semantic equivalent in the translation.There are a lot of characters involved in Teahouse,and the power relation is not stable.In this paper,the English versions of Teahouse translated by Ying Ruo-cheng and John Howard-Gibbon respectively are chosen for the comparative analysis to determine whether the power factor is taken into consideration in the translation.
