Hormonal control of body fluid metabolism.

Factors controlling body fluid metabolism are discussed. The role of hormones, including the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and natriuretic hormone, in regulating kidney function are investigated, as are other factors such as circadian rhythms, stress, and environmental factors. The need to include non-kidney related fluid metabolism, such as fluid loss through sweat or feces excretion, when doing research is stressed. Special consequences for the study of body fluid metabolism in the spaceflight environment are included.
