In this paper, the thermodynamic modeling for a low pressure scroll compressor with continuity and energy conservation equation was developed. Suction gas heating was considered by using energy balance. Governing equation was solved using fourth order Runge- Kutta scheme, and then pressure, temperature and mass with respect to orbiting angle were calculated. The model was verified with experimental results tested in the compressor calorimeter. Mass flow rate and COP with various pressure ratios were calculated. The performance of an inverter driven compressor was also analyzed as a function of frequency at the ASHRAE-T condition, and the results were compared with the experimental data.
