해양플랜트 화재 사고를 고려한 Water Deluge 시스템 위치 최적화 기법 개발

The offshore platforms are exposed to hazards such as hydrocarbon fire and/or explosion. These hazardous accidents lead to serious consequences for the structural safety, human lives and the surrounding environment. Among these incidents, fire has an influence on structure and equipments that might lead them to secondary accidents in some cases. It is of significant to reduce fire consequences utilizing fire protection facilities as a risk control option. The water deluge system is considered as one of the effective fire risk control options for preventing catastrophic results. The aim of this study is to develop a risk-based methodology to select the optimal location of water deluge system for all possible fire scenarios on offshore platforms. A credible set of fire scenarios are identified and selected using probabilistic sampling methods. The fire consequences are numerically calculated for selected scenario by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code. The Water Deluge Location Index (WLI) is then calculated using the frequency and consequence of fire scenarios. Then, WLI are used to prioritize the optimal locations of water deluge system. The suggested methodology can reduce uncertainties in the design procedure, and can consider the cost-effectiveness of safety design.
