Analytical model updating and model reduction

This paper starts with investigating the effect of model reduction on the model updating process and hence demonstrating the practical difficulties associated with reduced order analytical model updating approach. The advantages and possibilities of full analytical model updating are then discussed and the performance of some recently developed methods examined
