Line ripple suppressed flyback-forward converters with power factor correction

A novel flyback-forward converter with power factor correction and line ripple suppression is proposed. In single stage flyback-forward PFC converter, merging flyback and forward topologies can share the transformer and power transistor, but the regulation of the output voltage is not tight, especially in dynamic response. This paper proposes a two-switch flyback-forward converter with both high power factor and low output line-frequency ripple. The experimental result is presented and verified.
