Linear prediction z-transform (LPZ) method, Padé rational approximation, and the burg maximum entropy extrapolation

Abstract Alternatives to fast Fourier transformation using the linear prediction z -transform method and the Pade rational approximation method are discussed. These two closely related methods can be used to obtain a phase-sensitive spectrum with enhanced spectral resolution and reduced noise. Similarities and differences between the Burg maximum entropy method and the linear prediction extrapolation are discussed.
