Behavioural science and its relation to medicine--a need for positive action.

In a recent paper, Kamien highlighted the need for a behavioural science perspective in undergraduate medical education and medical practice. The current article attempts to extend this argument by delineating some of the variables which sustain the current lack of a viable and effective behavioural perspective in medical practice. Suggestions for remedying this deficit are provided.
