DC Traction Power Supply System Reliability Evaluation and Robust Design

Traction power supply system is one of the most important part of the railway system, which is responsible for providing electricity to power the running trains and other operating equipment. The performance of power supply has a profound impact on the railway system. Therefore, it is necessary to do research on the reliability of the power supply system and ensure its high reliability. This paper introduces some reliability-related indexes and proposes a method to evaluate the system reliability of DC electrified railway. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method is applied to perform reliability evaluation. This paper also proposes several methods to improve system reliability, providing guidelines for the robust design of the traction power supply system and substations in the future.
