A compact combline bandpass filter designed in LTCC

A compact combline bandpass filter structure using low temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) technology is proposed. The lumped capacitance in traditional combline filter structure is changed to distributed capacitance realized by parallel coupled strip-lines in LTCC layers. A bandpass filter with this structure is designed, fabricated, and tested in this article. The theoretical and experimental results are presented. The two results match each other well. The results show a relative band width of 5% with the center frequency at 9.6 GHz and a very high suppression out of band. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
