Control of the mole-rat, Spalax ehrenbergi, by Polytanol calcium phosphide pellets in field crops and hothouses was evaluated in 11 localities. A dosage of 10–120 g pellets per insert was needed to achieve complete control, in one operation or in 2–3 repetitions. The treatment sites were near mole-rat mounds or near signs of new damage in the crop. The question of safety in hothouses is discussed.
