Simulation of Multijoint Arm Movements

Arm movements are so common that we easily forget how complicated they are. Even a simple movement like reaching for a cup of coffee requires fine-tuned muscle activation patterns. Not only the magnitudes of the individual muscle contractions, but also their timing are of key importance in getting one’s hand to the cup.
