Research on pre-processing method of motion compensation for forward-looking SAR imaging based on navigational data

In order to solve the platform balleting effect on the forward-looking SAR focusing imaging, a new pre-processing algorithm based on navigational data is proposed. The proposed algorithm establishes a new coordinate transform to convert the WGS-84 ellipsoidal coordinate measured by the navigational equipments to the local space Cartesian coordinate, which people used to apply in SAR imaging. At the same time, the two-step delay method based on self-installed registration point is applied to get the precise platform air data to realize exact movement compensation for forward-looking imaging. Simulation indicates that the proposed algorithm can improve the performance of platform imaging system.
