A study on the wind as a potential of renewable energy sources in Malaysia

In developed countries, level of future demand for electricity are expected to increase rapidly. Even though, it is still unclear, but by referring to the present consumption of energy, it can be easily predicted. Due to this and the effect of global warming from the sources used nowadays, has made some countries promote new type of energy known as ‘renewable energy’. Until now, energy that comes from the wind, geothermal, solar and hydropower are the most commonly renewable energy found used. This type of energy is believe to be cost-effective, prevent global warming and is a new solution for sustainable energy sources. This self-renewing sources can be easily found used and develop by US, UK, Spain, and Japan. As in Malaysia, the concerning of this energy is still under R&D base. Therefore, this paper will be well elaborate and shows the possibilities and potentialities of this energy especially wind energy whether it can be develop and used in Malaysia. The stress is put on the horizontal axis design.
