Automatic Generation and Optimization of the Disassembly Sequence of Assemblies

It is one of the key problems in green manufacturing to optimize the disassembly sequence of wornout or malfunctioning assemblies. An Interference-free Matrix for assembly is suggested to be built, and the new ideas of “Disassembly Wedge” and their algorithm are proposed. On such a basis, the direction and order for every part that is to be disassembled from the assemblies can be computed. Besides, the computing model of automatic generation and optimization for the disassembly sequence of assemblies is proposed in accordance with Genetic Algorithms. By inputting some disassembly sequences and other controlling parameters, the program can search automatically for the optimal valid disassembly sequence in geometry. The minimal reorientation number of times during the disassembling of assemblies is assigned as the optimizing objective. As shown by the demonstration through a series of engineering examples, the proposed method is reliable and valid.
