Application of Anchor Jacked Pile in Existing Building Improvement for Tilt Rectifying

The tilt of existing buildings caused by differential foundation settlement of filled up ground is a hot and difficult problem in geotechnical engineering treatment. The tilt will have serious effects on both the operation of the equipments and the safety of the structure, so it must be treated timely. The paper introduced the working principle, project design,construction method and process control of anchor jacked pile; and then analysed the reasons that caused the inclination through a remedy reinforcement engineering example on a power plant limestone slurry tank. The results showed that differential settlement of backfill soil was the main reason of the tilt. At last, choosing anchor jacked pile to improvement for tilt rectifying. At present the tank has operated safely for one year after treatment, and insitu monitoring results show that the settlement meets the requirements of design. So the treatment scheme is successful.
