A fuzzy relaxation technique for partial shape matching

Abstract This paper describes a fuzzy relaxation technique to find all the similar parts, which have similarities and lengths above prespecified thresholds, between two shapes of two-dimensional (2D) objects. The matching procedure is invariant to arbitrary 2D geometric transformations. Experiments are shown to illustrate the proposed partial matching algorithm.
