All Optical ASK to DPSK Format Conversion Using Cross-Phase Modulation in a Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Fiber

We demonstrate all-optical amplitude-shift keying to differential phase-shift keying format conversion using cross-phase modulation in a photonic crystal fiber. A 10 Gb/s RZ-ASK signal is converted to RZ-DPSK format without pattern effect or amplitude distortion.
