Capacity evaluation of the UTRA WCDMA interface

Wide-band code division multiple-access (WCDMA) has been chosen as a basic radio-access technology for UMTS/IMT-2000. This paper provides independent radio subsystem capacity estimates for the UTRA FDD mode for different test environments using simulations. The evaluation methodology follows the recommendations outlined by ETSI SMG2. Environment and CDMA specific features are considered in our system level simulator.
