A Scalable Real-Time Biomonitoring Platform

Our paper presents a biomonitoring platform comprised of a software backend and an affordable wearable monitoring device. The biomonitoring field demands for large scale solutions involving plug and play devices in order to conduct ample studies. Our software platform is aimed at a scalable web backend with dedicated microservices for storing and processing real time data streams coming from a multitude of sensors. The hardware module was developed using an ergonomic design fit for outdoor environments and a fast connection using Bluetooth 4.0. We integrated sensors for electrocardiogram, oxygen saturation and heart rate. Our proposed platform allows for real time data monitoring of multiple subjects in an active environment.
