Fabrication of spectrally clean, long-period grating filters

We fabricate spectrally clean long-period gratings in optical fibers. We compensate the measured nonlinear response of the glass to UV light with a computer-controlled exposure schedule. The resulting spectra are free of unwanted harmonic resonances and sidelobes.
