Performance of multi-bearer connections for varied data services in a TDMA system

The TDMA structured DECT system provides support for data services such as fax, LAN and video. However, with each time slot capable of providing only 32 kbps, these services can only be supported through multi-bearer connections. The paper aims to quantify through computer simulations, the performance of multi-bearer connections with error control over the DECT radio link. The results of symmetric and asymmetric multi-bearer connections with selective repeat ARQ are presented together with the performance of LAN, video and fax services over various multi-bearer connections.<<ETX>>
