Assessment of traffic atmospheric environmental quality with LVQ neural network model

LVQ neural network model assessing road atmospheric environmental quality was designed with MATLAB language. It was used for assessing the concentrations of pollutants like CO, NOx, TSP and noise levels at the monitoring locations along the road.It was pointed out that LVQ neural network model has favorable interpolation and remains constant though the numbers of sample are reduced. The data monitored do not need to be pretreated. The results obtained were compared with those by principal component analysis method and they were proved to be identical.This shows that the devised neural network model has favorable nonlinear mapping and generalization.
