Study on available frequency band of static distributed circuit parameters extracted at bend microstrip line

In our previous work, the distributed circuit parameters of bend microstrip line were extracted at 3GHz, and their applicability was researched [1]. Based on this research, a new analysis is presented on the available frequency band of circuit parameters extracted at higher single frequencies (9GHz, 15GHz, and 21GHz). In this paper, the extracted circuit parameters are obtained from the results of full wave method. On the base of circuit parameters, the reflected voltage pulses and the reflection coefficients S11 on the bend line are calculated by using circuit theory. In addition, the time domain voltage waveforms and S11 are also obtained by using full-wave method. The comparison of these results from two methods reveal some interesting discoveries that the results in both of time and frequency domain demonstrate good agreement with each other, and the distributed circuit parameters extracted at single frequency ƒ0 have broadband frequency characteristics. The available frequency band is approximately ƒ0±20GHz.
