Simplex Optimization Applied To Electrofusion Biotechnology

Electrofusion is a rapidly expanding field. The primary focus of our electrofusion work has been in the development of cell-tissue applications. Utilization of this technology will be enhanced by the optimization of fusion parameters. Therefore, this study was initiated to develop a method that could be used to optimize electrofusion parameters. Our main interest is the optimization of cell-tissue electrofusion. However, we first applied the simplex optimization scheme to a cell-cell electrofusion system. A cell-cell system was chosen to focus on procedure development without the additional variables associated with biological tissue.
