REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PUBLIC POLICIES: HISTORICAL CONTEXT AND IMPLICATIONS TO MATERNITY IN UBERLÂNDIA -MG

This article presents a synthesis of the health public policies of Brazilian, correlating them with reproductive health care performed in the country. We have analyzed the current state of reproductive health in Brazil, Minas Gerais and Uberlândia’s municipality, supported by the maternal death risk (RMM), which was calculated using data from the DATASUS. Analyses indicated that the reproductive health policies can not be dissociated of gender and social movements fighting. The RMM analyzed suggest a high risk of death, indicating the need for revisions in reproductive health and integrity public policies, well as the strengthening of primary care.
