Dynamic Behaviour of Fundamental Manufacturing System Design Strategies

This paper summarises the relative dynamic performance of a generic family of manufacturing system scheduling strategies. The paper focuses both on the description of the family in control theory terms and a profile of performance traits derived from a comprehensive simulation study. The output is a set of guidelines for good industrial practise.
