Study on land use pattern optimizing simulation under ecological security - example from Farming-Pastoral Zone of Northern China

Exampling from Farming-Pastoral Zone of Northern China, the study on land use pattern optimizing simulation in 2010 under ecological security condition is developed by the integrated application of Gray Linear Programming (GLP) model and Cellular Automata (CA) model. There are two parts of it: setting down the optimizing scheme of the total amount of land use and collocating them to the proper spatial position. Gross optimizing scheme is set down using the Simplex method, which is restricted by 11 ecological security restraint conditions on 8 respects. The CA model that has complex spatial evolvement capacity is used to finish spatial admeasure through sufficing the succession of local land cell, suitability and restricted impact of surrounding land cell. Compared with current land use pattern, the optimized area of forestland, residential land and grassland increase while cultivated land decreases. The result indicates that it’s a perfect land use pattern and it can acquire ideal ecological benefit, economical benefit and social benefit.
