850nm Radio-Over-Fiber EVM Measurements for IEEE 802.11g WLAN and Cellular Signal Distribution

This paper evaluates the figure of merits for using novel radio-over-fiber (ROF) networks to transmit various digitally modulated wireless signals using 850nm vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL). Wireless standards included in this study are GSM 900MHz, PHS 1900MHz, WCDMA 2.1GHz and WLAN 2.412GHz. The measurements focus on the error vector magnitude (EVM) performance of the WLAN signal in coexistence with these other signals acting as interferences in a ROF channel
