Semiconductor memory device with data path option function

A semiconductor memory device having a data path option function is disclosed. The semiconductor memory device according to the present invention comprises a selection unit which decides whether read data and write data to pass through a data latch unit or not. Further, the semiconductor memory device comprises a bit line data latch unit which detects and amplifies data stored in a memory cell connected to a bit line and stores write data in the memory cell through the bit line; and a input/output driver which externally outputs read data that appears in the bit line and drives the write data applied from the outside.
