가이거모드 애벌런치 광 다이오드의 다크 카운트 생성과 소비전력량에 따른 절연파괴 전압의 최적화 연구

Dark count rates in GM-APD(Geiger Mode -Avalanche Photodiode) and its effects on the power dissipation were investigated. After analyzing SRH(Shockley Read Hall)-generation, TAT(Trap Assisted Tunneling), and BBT(Band to Band Tunneling) which cause the dark count, the relationship between the dark count generation and power dissipation was demonstrated using various devices with different breakdown voltage. In this paper, the optimized electrical breakdown voltage of GM-APD to suppress the dark count was presented.
