An Optimal Torque Control based on Effective Tracking Range for MPPT of Wind Power Generation Systems Based on PMSG

Nowadays research focus is towards the variable speed power generation in instead fixed speed power generation in wind energy conversion system (WECS).This paper proposes a variable speed control scheme for grid connected (WECS) using permanent magnet synchronous generator PMSG. The output power of a (WECS) is maximized if the wind rotor is driven at an optimal rotational speed for a particular wind speed, for this reason on the development of optimal torque control (OTC), which is a commonly used method for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is presented. This new algorithm of (OTC-MPPT) based on artificial neural network (ANN) in order to modify the conventional method OTC. The "MPPT-OTC-ANN" method can increase the system robustness and improves the system fast tracking, stability, and makes wind power generation system capture more wind energy. Finally, the simulation results verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method proposed in this paper.
