Inthis paper, weaddress theissue ofco-existence ofBluetooth (BT)andCarrier SenseMultiple Access/Collision Avoidance (CSMAICA)-based Wireless LocalAreaNetworks (WLANs)inthelicense free2.4GHz band.Specifically, the probabilistic treatment presented inthefollowing investigates theeffect oftheslotted p-persistent CSMAICAsystemona co-existing BT piconet. A closed-form expression forpacket errorprobability (PEP)inBT asa function ofCSMAICA parameters suchasthepersistence probability, probability of packetgeneration andthenumberofusersisderived.
