A load management algorithm for PCC interface breaker

Today the power generation sector is still dominated by fossil fuel resulting in an increase of CO2 emissions. In order to fight this issue and to reduce the generation costs large amounts of generation from renewable have to be exploited. This requires the implementation of new techniques to control a more complex electrical system. Different strategies can be used for the smart management of distribution networks such as peak shaving, load shaping, etc. The aim of this work is to present an Intelligent Load Management (ILM) technique, that can be implemented on board of real LV breaker with the goal to manage controllable loads in a microgrid scenario. The ILM proposed methodology is able to control the power absorption at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) of a generic microgrid exploiting information provided by real time measures.
