The analysis and simulation of communication network in Iridium system based on OPNET

Constellation network is the foundation and key of the development of aerospace in the future, especially Iridium system. The Iridium system is a satellite-based, wireless personal communications network designed to permit a wide range of services. In this article, it uses network analysis software OPNET, with the orbit technology of Iridium satellites, to establish the complicated spatial network constituting, and analysis the performance of the network The methods are applicable to other LEO satellite constellations and the research work is the foundation for further research on the LEO satellite constellation.
