PMD Compensation in High-Speed Fiber-Optic Transmission System

PMD is becoming one of the main obstacles to further increasing the transmission speed of a single channel high-speed optical transmission system.The importance of PMD compensation is introduced first,then some schemes that actively balance and compensate PMD are discussed.Finally,some new techniques that can restrain PMD are also introduced.
