Application of Parallel Algorithms in an Air Pollution Model

One of the most important tasks has to be solved in the modern society is to find reliable and robust control strategies for keeping the pollution under certain safe levels and to use these strategies in a routine way. Large mathematical models, in which all physical and chemical processes are adequately described, in cooperation with the modern high-performance computers can successfully be used to solve this task. One such a model is the Danish Eulerian Model developed in the National Environmental Research Institute in Roskilde, Denmark.
