Study military command and control system as complex networks

In this paper we present an empirical analysis of complex networks in the command and control system. Here we study a kind of C3I system and its two improved models. Using the software Pajek, we get the degree, the degree-distribution, the shortest path length, the clustering coeffcient, the betweenness centrality and the clustering coeffcient-degree relations of the networks. We find that the C3I system is characterized with scale-free, small-world and also has a signature of hierarchy. How to enhance the system effectiveness and the attack-resistance capability is also discussed in this paper.
