A Fingerprint Identification Method based on Multi-level Shape Classification and Texture Feature Analysis

This paper provides an efficient fingerprint identification method based on multi-level shape classification and texture feature analysis of fingerprint image.The method consists of several steps:fingerprint acquisition,image enhance,minutiae extraction,texture feature analysis,fingerprint shape classification and comparison with template stored in database.The minimum mean square error fitting and fuzzy synthesis decision are applied to this identification algorithm.According to the fingerprint identification method,an automatic fingerprint identification system(SIM-AFIS)and a fingerprint attendance record system(GZGS-FARS)are developed.Experiment result and application show that this method is feasible and suitable for identification and verification systemof network or terminal system.
